Meet the Team
Dana Kaye received her B.A. in Fiction Writing from Columbia College Chicago. After college, she worked as a freelance writer and book critic. Her work has appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, Time Out Chicago, Crimespree Magazine, Windy City Times, Bitch Magazine, and on GapersBlock.com. This experience has been crucial to her publicity career: she has the contacts and necessary industry insight to form pertinent, widespread media campaigns.
Dana is known for her innovative ideas and knowledge of current trends. She frequently speaks on the topics of social media, branding, and publishing trends, and her commentary has been featured on websites like The Huffington Post, Little Pink Book, and NBC Chicago. She is also the author of Your Book, Your Brand: A Step-By-Step Guide to Launching Your Book and Boosting Sales, available now from Diversion Books.
Julia Borcherts received her M.F.A in Creative Writing and her M.A. in the Teaching of Writing from Columbia College Chicago. Before joining Kaye Publicity, she was the Theater and “Eat. Drink. Do.” columnist for RedEye (a high-circulation Chicago Tribune publication) and has written extensively for Time Out Chicago, Windy City Times, ChicagoBoxing.com and many other publications. She is also the co-founder of the popular Reading Under the Influence live lit series and an adjunct professor in the Department of Creative Writing at Columbia College Chicago.
These experiences have earned her a reputation as a well-known and respected resource for connecting and advising authors, media professionals and others in the publishing and event production communities.

Our goal is to serve authors on any budget, which is why we created Book Launch Boot Camp, a group PR program to help authors successfully launch their books. Applications for this four-month program open in May and November of each year and participants are a mix of traditionally published and independently published. The cost is $299/mo for four months.
When you don’t have the budget to hire someone, you have to roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself. But you don’t have to do it alone! We offer consultations, press material critiques, and promotion plans that you can execute yourself.
