Julia Borcherts received her M.F.A in Creative Writing and her M.A. in the Teaching of Writing from Columbia College Chicago. Before joining Kaye Publicity, she was a daily columnist for two Chicago Tribune publications and a frequent contributor to Time Out Chicago, Windy City Times and many other media outlets. She is an adjunct professor in the Department of Creative Writing at Columbia College Chicago and in the Masters in Written Communications program at National Louis University and regularly speaks at conferences and workshops on the topics of publicity, social media and author branding.

Let’s Get Started
Tell us about you and your writing career and we’ll find the best program for you!
I am…I’m a traditionally published author with a budget of $5000+ who wants to find a team to handle all aspects of the promotion process while I focus on writing my books.
Fantastic! You need a full-service publicity team! Click the Contact Us page, fill out the form, and Dana will be in touch within 1 business day.I am a published or soon-to-be published author who wants one-on-one assistance, but can’t afford the hefty price tag of a full-time publicist.
Our goal is to serve authors on any budget, which is why we created Book Launch Boot Camp, a group PR program to help authors successfully launch their books. Applications for this four-month program open in May and November of each year and participants are a mix of traditionally published and independently published. The cost is $299/mo for four months. My budget is less than $1000, but I still want to grow my readership and I’m open to doing a lot of the work myself.
When you don’t have the budget to hire someone, you have to roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself. But you don’t have to do it alone! We offer consultations, press material critiques, and promotion plans that you can execute yourself. Just because you can’t hire a full-time publicist doesn’t mean you can’t execute a successful, professional campaign. Click here to book.
Not quite ready for a publicist?
Are you still writing your book, looking for an agent, or working on your book proposal? Looks like you’ve put the cart a bit before the horse then! Unless you have a book under contract or slated for publication, you don’t need a publicist yet. If you need guidance on the publishing process or have questions about next steps, you’re welcome to book a consultation with Dana here.
We take a holistic approach to public relations and focus on building meaningful connections between our clients and their readers. We believe in working as a team to grow your audience and increase your sales. If you’re ready to leave the one-size-fits-all approach behind and focus on quality over quantity, then we hope you’ll join the Kaye Publicity Crew.
