Chicago Literati

Next Event: February 2, 2012, 6:00-9:00pm

Writing is a solitary practice, but the process of being published, selling a script, and expanding your name recognition still requires schmoozing. This unique networking event aims to bring the people of Chicago’s literary world together for an evening of mingling, brainstorming, and collaborating.

Featured guests include:

  • Ben LeRoy – Publisher of Tyrus Books and F+W Crime
  • Jon and Ruth Jordan – Co-founders and editors of Crimespree Magazine, a publication dedicated to the mystery genre
  • Sherrill Bodine – author of ALL I WANT IS YOU and other contemporary romances set in Chicago

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet people in the community, swap business cards, and make connections to further their literary career.

Registration is $15 in advance, $20 at the door. There will be a cash bar with drink specials, appetizers will be served, and the first 30 people to register will receive a swag bag. Register here.

Who are the Chicago Literati?

The Chicago Literati consist of local authors, readers, aspiring writers, booksellers, playwrights, theater producers, and publishing professionals. If you live in Chicago and you’re involved in the written word, you are a part of Chicago’s Literati.

Networking Events

Kaye Publicity hosts quarterly networking events for members of this community. These evening events consist of 2-4 featured guests who are accomplished in their field and have insight to offer. Past guests have included award-winning and bestselling authors, veteran booksellers, local publishers, and theater producers.

There is no set program or panels; the goal is to mingle and network with like-minded people in a casual bar atmosphere. All you need is a stack of business cards and an open mind.
